The image with todays blog is the church at Lenham, Kent complete with Talia and I in 2011. Lenham was a cozy little village in the heart of Kent, that is rich in my family history. At various times several branches of my family called Lenham home. These branches included but weren’t limited to the surnames Cooper, Nettlefold, Rayner, Strancham, Bottle, Carter, Fletcher, Clement, Grey and Stokes just to name a few.
In a small county like Kent, it should be little surprise that many family branches will be found living either in the same village or close vicinity.
It was a special moment to walk through the same door into the church that so many ancestors had done, many years back in history. To be completely honest, it was a ‘humbling’ experience to actually be where they had been.
