Todays blog shows a time of crisis at the London City parish church, St Giles Cripplegate. The pages you see are the burials for September 1 – 7 1603. My 8th great granduncle, James Myllan is noted with the red star and his wife Ann, with the blue star. They were buried 2 days apart, Sept 1 and 3. At this time in 1603, London was having an epidemic of the dreaded ‘plague’! The records don’t note many causes of death but plague was responsible for most of them. There are 196 burials listed on these two pages.
