August 14 1813 Nathaniel Hunt 3rd

ward Our Family & Me Team

Dymchurch, Kent was where three generations of my Hunt ancestors lived. It was more unusual that these three generations were all named ‘Nathaniel’. (Going forward, I’ll deal with the two earlier Nathaniel’s) Todays blog is about an event that happened on August 14 1813. The Hunt family had left Dymchurch some time before and found themselves at Southwark, Surrey. The family was under a removal order and the document listed all the family members and their ages and such is a huge perk for the researcher! The family sought parish help and I must wonder ‘why’ as Nathaniel was a carpenter and typically, work could be found. This leads to speculation that he may have suffered an accident or sickness? At this time, Nathaniel was in his 30’s which is considered the prime of a man’s life. In typical research results, every ‘find’ always seems to generate more questions.
