The illustration and small biography of David Sypher was a totally unexpected discovery! I’d been perusing online newspaper archives and realized David Sypher was a possible candidate for discoveries. The snippet gave some insight into David’s life and times. Previously, I suspected he arrived in Upper Canada (Ontario) in the 1840’s but didn’t realize it was 1849.
It just goes to show the value of trying to overturn as many stones as possible when conducting research!
