In the 25 plus years that I have been researching my family, I must confess, that it never gets old! It’s hard to really explain ‘why’ research has had such a hold on me and I’ll attribute it to the fact of self discovery. Many people might not realize but if ‘one’ ancestor in the family tree was different, each of us would be different. Further to the basic discoveries is the realization that each ancestor wasn’t so different than we are today. They had hopes, dreams, aspirations, heart ache, disappointments and even victories! It is so critical to realize all that our ancestors accomplished in their days becomes the shoulders that we stand on today. Research can be humbling, revealing and very fulfilling.
