I descend from 4 consecutive ancestors named ‘Justinian’ Cooper (from 1670 – 1856). Interestingly, all four of them were farmers/yeomen for their occupations. The first of these Justinian Cooper’s had a unique distinction of being married 4 times. Typical of the era before medical advancements, poor Justinian was widowed 3 times before his last wife outlived him. Justinian had two families with his first two wives but the it seemed he had no children with his 3rd and 4th wives. Presumably then, his last two marriages were more for company and companionship.
