My 3X great grandfather, William Kerr 1791 – 1871, is a favourite ancestor as he had a very interesting life! As a widower on February 9 1865, William married Louisa Larner b1834, (also widowed) but even though the image says they were both ‘full age’ he was considerably older than she was! In fact, Louisa was younger than William’s daughters.
It’s impossible to know but perhaps she was a bit of a gold digger? Their marriage did help reveal Williams ancestral lineage as his father was also William Kerr, who was the subject of a recent blog.
Going forward we’ll have more blogs about both William Kerr Sr. and Jr. for it seems they both had a thing for younger women!
