This document is the March 20 1791 baptism of my 3rd great grandfather, William Kerr the younger. The ceremony took place at St Botolph Aldgate, London and it’s that his parents were mentioned that makes this document so interesting! Later, I’d discover that there was a huge age difference in their ages, to the tune of 43 years!
William Kerr the elder was the master of a shop or warehouse that produced scotch lawn and gauze for bandages. The presumption here is that his wife ‘Dianna Langmead’ had likely worked for him. It was a few years later that William and Dianna actually were married. Further details in the research procedure, established that Dianna was originally from Hittisleigh, Devonshire.
