Rose through the generations!

ward Our Family & Me Team

Few flowers exceed the beauty of a ‘Rose’. It represents love and integrity along with being a long-lasting flower.

As you see from today’s image, we have a few generations of ‘Roses’ in the Hodges and Wiatt ancestry. It was a given name that spanned 3 of 4 consecutive generations. It served a useful confirmation in my Hodges ancestry with the 1707 burial of Rose Scoones at Pluckley, Kent. Samuel Hodges was an influential ancestor from Pluckley with a ‘Scoones’ family line with his daughter being named ‘Rose’.

At times these little clues are the most useful factors in establishing the lineage.
