My ancestor ‘Warboro’ Torte – Paule – Fissenden – Baker packed a lot of living into her <> 45 years of life (circa 1550 – 1592). Further in her activities was that she lived in 3 different communities in Kent. She grew up in Yalding where she was also widowed twice! Then she went on to Boxley, Kent where she married for a third time and in 1592, she was buried at Leeds, Kent. It was her very unique given name ‘Warboro’ that made this aspect of research possible. Furthermore, it was unusual for a person to move as many times as she did. The reality of Warboro’s era was that people were most likely to live their entire life within a 15 mile radius of their community of birth. It is presumable for her that the security of being married likely played into her moving as much as she did.
