Our 2011 visit to England generated many surprises, which were not expected. At the top of the list was the location picture in this blog. I knew my ancestor, Joseph Ashbee was a ‘Miller’ at Pluckley, Kent, specifically ‘Pevington Farm.’
Upon visiting the location, I took plenty of pictures and was pleasantly surprised to learn that I had taken an image of where the windmill was once situated! This had to be a scenario where a person was destined to find such an interesting tidbit.
Having a vintage picture of the windmill and also a present day shot of where it actually stood, was a ‘rush’!
