The ancestor in this old picture is my great grandfather, William Joseph Hampsheir. In his lifetime, 1848 – 1917, William worked at a few different jobs. He was a baker and also worked cutting blocks for a printing press but the most interesting was that he was a Bandmaster! Further to this picture, William is dressed in his bandmasters uniform. It is also noteworthy that he was mentioned in London newspapers a few times, as bandmaster and also doing a tuba solo o a song called, ‘The Village Blacksmith’.
