This story from research reminds us how small the world can be at times. Of course, a story like this one doesn’t happen unless one is doing research. So, many years ago, I did some research for the ‘Waltons’ who were the neighbours of the Martinsons. The two families had been neighbours and friends for about twenty years. It was an ‘Oh My Goodness’ moment for Mrs. Walton when it came to light that a distant great uncle of hers was named Francis Tait, a church minister at Pluckley, Kent. The WOW moment was when it came to light in 1856, where this minister ‘FB Tait’ officiated at the marriage ceremony of ‘my’ 2X great grandparents, Thomas Hunt and Elizabeth Ashbee!!!!!
