It should be no surprise that way back in history, our ancestral branches knew each other. Today, we’ll look at Robert Hunt and Jeremy Osborne both of Ashford, Kent. Both men lived from the late 1500’s and into the early 1600’s. Theirs must have been a unique friendship based on business dealings since Robert was a ‘saddler’ and Jeremy was a ‘tanner’. Each occupation depended on the other. Historically a marriage between these two branches happened 9 generations later when Elizabeth Ashbee married Thomas Hunt at Pluckley, Kent in 1856.
