The parish records of Hutton Buscel, Yorkshire for May 1815 tell a story in our Angel family. John and Ann Warsnop of Shibden near Halifax, West Yorkshire brought their infant son, Richard to Hutton Buscel for his baptism. Sadly, we see the poor child was buried there two days later! Further investigation established that ‘Ann’ Warsnop was actually the step daughter of John Angel Sr. of Hutton Buscel. This conclusion was made from the 1823 Will of John Angel, where he left 5 pounds to his daughter ‘Ann Warsnop’.
Shibden near Halifax is about 80 miles from Hutton Buscel, which was a long trip for their era. We also learned that John Warsnop was a cloth manufacturer.
