Back in the early days of researching my Cooper ancestors of Kent, I was in for a pleasant surprise! It took some doing to find but I was pleased to discover that I had 4 consecutive generations named ‘Justinian Cooper’. It was a little ironic, ‘Cooper’ is a painfully popular surname in England but ‘Justinian’ is a ‘rare’ given name! If it weren’t for the generational use of the given name Justinian, I likely couldn’t have solved this lineage. Further in the process of solving such a puzzle was the added bonus that three of these four generations left behind a last Will and Testament.
