The ‘John’ in this blog is my 4X great grandfather John Angel 1743 – 1823. He had way too many people to mourn in his time as he outlived 3 wives, Elizabeth, Hannah and Ann. We must add to that total his sister Mary and a handful of grandchildren. Perhaps his misery really bottomed out by outliving his ‘adult’ daughters, Mary (Tindal) in 1808 and Elizabeth (Hardy) in 1809. It is puzzling as to just ‘how’ he coped with the losses in his life but we must be thankful that he endured for our sakes.
